I am a trained actor experienced in stage, film, TV & voiceover. Performance includes: Melbourne’s Fringe Festival, Comedy Festival & International Arts Festival; Castlemaine Arts Festival, La Mama, 45downstairs, The Australian National Playwrights’ Centre, Public Art Melbourne Biennial Lab, Melbourne FOLA and MONA FOMA, Launceston.
I have produced & performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (Gilded Balloon) & worked with U.K. companies including the British Russian Theatre, Camden’s People Theatre & ROAR festival.
My co-adaption to stage & performance of Dorothy Porter’s ‘The Monkey’s Mask’, was enthusiastically endorsed by the author & toured numerous Australian writers' festivals & performance art centres.
I have an interest in multi-form work and often collaborate with other artists in film, dance & performance art.
I hold a Diploma of Arts - Small Companies & Community Theatre and a Masters of Primary Health - Palliative Care.
I have worked for over 35 years in the arts industry. I work as a playwright, writer, dramaturge, performer, theatre maker, MC, producer and facilitator.
I am the monthly MC of award winning intergenerational storytelling show Generation Women and the host of live chat show On the Couch with Beck Lister.
I have worked as a professional artist in Queensland, Victoria and the Northern Territory. In 2006 I won an AWGIE for my play Through the Mist. I have a Masters in Writing for Performance from the VCA, University of Melbourne and a Social Work Degree from the University of Queensland.
Additionally I work as a social worker in private practice and as a sessional mental health social worker for Eating Disorders Victoria.
